Armed with a keen sense of humor and passion for his music, Los Baños bred and Bay Area residing rapperRuben Paz has made great strides with his music in just a short period of time. By remaining true to his sound, while managing a ravenous YouTube fanbase, Ruben Paz has been able to add songs to his catalog with well established rappers, Kap G and Rockie Fresh, both of which will appear on his upcoming project.
“I discovered my passion for Hip Hop music at the age of 8 when I would spend countless hours watching music videos on MTV. One of the first videos I remembered watching was Mike Jones ‘Back Then.’ From there at about 10 I recorded my first song on a Guitar Hero microphone at a friends’ house. At that moment I knew what I wanted to do,” Ruben Paz explained. “As a freshman in high school, I started producing my own beats. Nobody wanted to give me beats to rap on so I had to provide for myself.”
Now years later this self-start, also known as “RPG,” is making moves in the Bay Area as an unsigned/indie Hispanic artist who reps his culture and his music to the end. With over 2 million views on his
“I.D.G.A.F.N” visual, there’s no telling how far his new music will go now that he’s gotten some official co-signs. Forever In My Zone will be Ruben’s debut to rap fans and the media, as a large part of his buzz developed with viral YouTube views.
“It’s crazy to think forever in my zone was just an idea 5 months ago. I didn’t expect to have any features on my tape, especially 2 of my favorite artists,” Ruben explained.
In addition to his plans to release his project Forever In My Zone this Summer he’s working with platinum producer Nizzy, 1/2 of Wallis Lane on a yet to be titled project.
