Hello everyone I am Mz. Honey and I’m from Richmond, VA
How long have you been modeling and what motivated you to start?
I developed a passion for modeling since the age of 17. The fact that I can express myself in different ways through art and photography while traveling to places I otherwise would not have is the main reason I started.
What do you prefer inside shoots or outside shoots and why?
I prefer outside shoots because it really captures the live nature and scenary which make the picture come more to life.
What is your definition of Grynd?
Working hard consistently and making sacrifices until you see a positive and steady outcome. Having the dedication and ambition to want more from life and actually getting out there to make it happen.
One of the main topics in being successful is BRANDING yourself. How important is this in the modeling world?
Branding is very important in the modeling world because it represents you as a whole, everything you stand for and can potentially offer as a model. This can make or break you if you do not have the right team and guidance throughout your career. Making sure your brand is clean, professional and positive at all times opens more doors for you than you can realize.
In your experience what are some of the common mistakes you see in up and coming models?
The main thing I see as a common mistake in models is that they all want to be these fake bodied barbie dolls. The best way to last in the modeling world is to have a unique natural look, well spoken, business minded, clean image and being diverse.. That’s what the agents look for.. Someone that they can make a household name and that’s not afraid to be a trendsetter.
What type of music do you perfer and what do you think about music now vs when you were coming up?
I love all kinds of music but R&B and Jazz are my favorite.
What’s next for you outside of modeling?
I have started my clothing line called “House Of Body” that will drop summer 2016, along with my website and calendar online at (www.mzhoney.com), Other than that finishing up my RN degree and moving on to my doctorate is my main focus at the moment.
What advice would you give to anyone looking into this business?
The best advice I can give anyone is to be yourself and enjoy life, don’t let anyone tell you what you cannot accomplish, and never be afraid to step outside of the box and try new things and network with new positive people.
