Omg! Brooklyn is on fire right about now, thanks to a team of individuals who came together and filmed a music video title ‘Do That’.
Not just any regular video that we are accustomed to seeing these days. No way! Although low budget and I among a handful of old hip-hop heads don’t care if the budget was 2 million dollars. Absolutely not a factor. What sold this video is the storytelling of truth, organic, fun and aspect of the street. Notorious B.I.G’s- BROOKLYN.
The area where Do That was filmed is affectionately called ‘The 9’ or ‘90’s’. Clarkson Avenue and 95th to be exact. An area that has rich music history thanks to the young talent Bobby Shmurda and his GS9 set. Flipping the stigma of hood life, Do That is actually a song based on Brooklyn’s self-publish author Tilsa Wright 2015 novel ‘Lady in Red’.
The main character in Wright’s novel, Keisha Lopez is being portrayed by new kid on the block BunBunny Melo. A rising singer from Ridgewood Queens. Artist Kush Lee delivers a cool vibes as he and Wright co-wrote and produced Do That. Talk about talent and independent, this movement has a raw untapped of individuals we are going to see explode in 2019.
Do That for the struggle, for Brooklyn and for Hiphop. Watch the video and spread the love!
