Thank you for taking time with us MoeBucks. Please introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from.
My name is Mohamed Ibrahim, better known as MoeBucks. I’m from Philadelphia, born and raised in North Philly.

What was your inspiration to get involved in the music business?
My inspiration originally came from a J.Cole track (Show Me Something). I’ve always had a passion for music. I always wanted to be involved in the music industry. I started going out to different venues and clubs where I then started interacting with local DJ’s in my city and underground artists who are trying to make it big in the industry.

You manage a few artists, what influenced you to start managing?
What influenced me to start managing these artists were the minor connections I already had in the industry. When I came in contact with these new artists and heard their music, I felt as though I could help them expand their horizons and progress together in the industry.

Tell us how you connected with the artists you currently manage?
I connected with most of my artists just bumping into them in the studios and vibing out to their music. We became friends and they expressed to me their urge to find someone who could give them the push they needed to get their names out there. I felt a strong connection with my artists because I felt I could give them that push and support them.

This music business has a lot of ups and downs, what keeps you motivated?
One thing that really keeps me motivated is my mindset, I try to not pay attention to the downs and focus more on the ups and the music itself. Hearing my artists’ songs in the clubs or when people drive by in the street really gives me a thrill and helps to keep me motivated as well. Knowing that we have the support of so many people gives me that extra push to keep going.

You’re the CEO of HiLyfeEnt, tell us about this.
HiLyfeEnt is the music label, when I created the name I wanted it to relate to aspects of the lives of both my artists and myself. With this name we’re saying “Hi, how you doing ? This is our Lyfe .. we’re here to entertain you.”

What are your business goals over the next year or two?
Honestly, my business goals over the next two years are to have my artists do features with top artists in the industry and manage a few more artists as well. My main objective is to get my artists to be the next best thing and really get their names out there even more.

What is your definition of GRYND?
GRYND means to be ambitious and push for what you want in life and never stop working hard, no matter what people tell you. If you really want it, don’t stop until you get it. Visualize it, create it and, never give up on yourself.
